Doris Anne Ray Crowder
July 23, 1925 - June 19, 2009
Savannah - Doris Anne Ray Crowder, 83, died June 19, 2009 at Candler Hospital. She was a native of Birmingham, Alabama and resided in Savannah for 41 years. Mrs. Crowder was the daughter of Horace G. and Imogene Lyons Ray. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt School of Nursing in 1946. She was a Registered Nurse prior to moving to Savannah. In Savannah, Mrs. Crowder practiced nursing at Georgia Regional Hospital and retired after 15 years from Candler Hospital's newborn nursery. Her husband, E. Lowell Crowder preceded her in death, 1998.
Surviving Mrs. Crowder are her daughter and son-in-law, Karen C. and Phillip Bickley of Savannah; son, Randy. L. Crowder of Lakewood, FL; granddaughters, Lisa Anne Bickley of Savannah; Cathryn Leigh Crowder of Charleston, SC and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.
Entombment: Private.
